Hello everyone. I am Komatsuda from M1.

From April 1^st, 10 new students including myself joined. Orientation and welcome party are held at the start of Yamaguchi Lab.

Orientation

First, an orientation was given to the new members to guide them with their upcoming research life at Yamaguchi Lab.

Everyone were asked and checked with basic matters such as how to proceed with experiment and schedule for 1 year.

I was delighted to know that a lab from 1 that just started a year ago and I was set up by five people were able to create a neat Yamaguchi lab manual. I am also happy that I have become a member of the Yamaguchi Lab.

Cherry-blossom viewing (-1 & 0 meeting)

After the orientation, we had a cherry-blossom viewing with the neighboring Hosokawa Lab on noon time. But the weather was quite bad so luckily it was done indoors. It was great that both laboratories were able to interact with each other, including new students.

On the way, we moved our party to Jun-san’s apartment lounge.

The view was good on the higher floors but unfortunately the cherry blossoms are not very visible. It was not even blooming at the first place and this year seems to be slower than usual. It was a bit wild here but it was very exciting.

Last few days was the birthday of Prof. Hosokawa, so everyone celebrated!

Congratulations to Hosokawa-sensei!

Yamaguchi welcome party(1^st & 2^nd meeting)

After the joint cherry-blossom viewing was over, we took a break at the lab and had a new party at Yamaguchi Lab.

The next party is held at a place famous for fried chicken.

I don’t know all the name of the dishes which came out one after another but it was delicious.(I forgot to take a picture of the fried chicken).
Asako who was asleep most of the times at the 0th meeting was in great shape.

The second party was at the Doma which is in the same building.

For some reason, Asako and Isshiki also joined.
Everyone seemed tired in Nagachoba so in the end, I closed the lid with Hakata Ramen KokoroBA.

From this week, it ’s time to start full-scale operations including B4. (First from cleaning and experiment preparation.)

New members join and I think the environment in the Lab will change a little and it will be a better year.
